How does the system work...
The Bye Bye Standby® Energy Manager works by a series of Zone Controllers that talk to Smart Socket Pros which are attached to each users desktop equipment.
When the Bye Bye Standby Screensaver detects that a desk system is not being used and should be turned off, a message is sent to a central server that then shuts the PC down into hibernate mode and then the power is switched off completely using the Smart Socket.
This system is simple, robust and effective. In a week of 168 hours it saves approximately 130 hours of wasted energy use.
An override switch is also fitted in case the user wants to access their equipment unexpectedly, such as early one weekend or late in the evening.
