The simplest way of checking is by looking at your serial number on the bottom of the unit.
If it is a 6 character number with an asterisk (*) at each end, such as *000BBB*, it is a version 2 controller.
If you have a long sequence with dashes (16 characters or more) then you have a version 1 controller.
