Depending on the size of the installation depends on what you feel is more convenient.
Whatever it is worth planning which devices you are going to attach to which controller. Very relevant when you have more than one controller being used. It helps with balancing the load per controller.
- From the list of locations/ people names allocate a device to it.
Options used:
You could
- Plug a controller to be used and pair up all the devices you plan to use with controller on site.
- Change the name on the hosted service : after logging in, go management -> sockets.
- click on the relevant device ( look at address [0 : Account number : Controller serial number it is paired with : device number])
- change name to either location or persons name
- pack the devices in such a way it makes it easy to identify when you get to site otherwise it is a chore looking thorugh everything to get to the right device for its allocated location
You could
- do the pairing on site with reference to your pre allocated list
- when you return from site change the names
You could
- do the allcoation when you get to site
- change the names when you return from site
