[edit] Introduction

The Bye Bye Standby Energy Manager Screen Saver allows home and corporate users to save electricity, money and reduce their CO2 footprint by shutting down their PC(s) when not in use.

The Screen Saver installs on Microsoft's Windows XP and Windows Vista Operating Systems.

It can run in two modes:

1) Standalone - where the Screen Saver monitors for "Idle times" outside of working hours - and then puts the PC into Hibernate Mode.

2) In conjunction with a Bye Bye Standby Energy Manager Server - where IT / Facilities Management Personnel can set policies as to when a PC should be powered down.

More information on the Bye Bye Standby Energy Manager Server can be found here.
