[edit] Installing the Screen Saver

[edit] To install the Energy manager Screen Saver

  • Copy the Screensaver install file and Registry file to the desktop.
  • Run the Registry file followed by the Install File
  • Follow the on screen prompts


Once the screensaver is installed you need to register it with the Energy Manager Server. To do this do the following:


[edit] Win2K and XP

  • Right click on the desktop and select Properties
  • Select the “Screen Saver” Tab at the top of the window
  • Select the ByeByeStandby Energy Manager Screensaver from the list
  • Click “Properties”
  • Click “Advanced”
  • Enter the IP address of the Energy Manager Server into the Address Box
  • Click the test button (click “OK” on the next two pop-ups if the test ok)
  • Click “OK” to go back to the previous screen
  • Enter the Users name and the address of the ByeByeStandby socket the computer is connected through into the relevant fields.
  • Click “Register” and a popup will appear with a serial number
  • The computer is now registered with the Energy Manager Server


[edit] Vista

  • Right click on the desktop and select personalize
  • Select the “Screen Saver”
  • Select the ByeByeStandby Energy Manager Screensaver from the list
  • Click “Properties”
  • Click “Advanced”
  • Enter the IP address of the Energy Manager Server into the Server Address Field
  • Click the “Test Connection” button (click “OK” on the next two pop-ups if the test ok)
  • Click “OK” to go back to the previous screen
  • Enter the Users name and the address of the ByeByeStandby socket the computer is connected through into the relevant fields.
  • Click “Register” and a popup will appear with a serial number
  • The computer is now registered with the Energy Manager Server. Click “OK”
  • To test this , open a web browser and go to the Energy Manager web page – select “Management” and then “Users”. You should see the details just typed into the Screen saver.
